Mission of Hope 2008 Christmas Holiday and Travel

With the cooler days of autumn and begin to focus our thoughts our less fortunate neighbors in rural Appalachia and how we can help this Christmas. Many of us are blessed daily with warm homes, warm clothes, plenty of food and employment to meet our needs. There are thousands of people within walking distance of Knoxville, also the struggle for the basic needs of children every day can be done. Most of these people want to worksupport their families so many of us take for granted. However, this is an area of extreme poverty, with few jobs available and many needs. This is the year 13 of our Christmas campaign. The first year in 1996, we were able to provide 150 children and last year more than 16,000 children and their families were assisted with food, new clothes, toiletries, new toys and more. Our campaign for Christmas 2008 Blue Barrel collections start Friday, November 21 and lasts untilMonday, December 8. (See below for the needs and proposals to see.) Volunteers are following on: desk, hospitality desk, Barrel Pick Up, Administrative Assistants, sorting and packaging, warehouse workers, truck loader, pickup & Drivers different other tasks.
